TPS Invitation to CCS Thunder Cars
Upon reading the bad news about failed C.C. Speedway ownership, Texas Pro Sedan Series Race and Administrative Director, Neil Upchurch has made the following announcement.
In order to help displaced 4 cylinder CCS cars recover from the loss of their track this season and yet provide a level the playing field, C.C. Speedway Thunder cars are extended an invitation to compete in the final two 2007 Texas Pro Sedan Series races at Thunder Hill Raceway on September 15 and 29.
The following rules will apply to CCS Thunder Cars. They will be accepted provided they are in compliance with their 2007 Mini Stock rules and will be allowed the following upgrade optional exceptions.
CCS cars may use TPS 13” Hoosier Racing Tires or their CCS DOT tires.
CCS cars may use after-market suspension parts.
CCS cars may use lock drive wheels.
These exceptions are subject to post race change(s).
All drivers must comply with the TPS rule to receive scanner channel on 154.570 MHz
All drivers must be a one race TPS member at $20 per race.
All drivers must file a TPS race entry before their first race ($50). An entry form is available on www.TexasProSedans.com
All cars must pass conventional safety inspection.
The September 15 race purse is projected to exceed $3,000 if 24 cars with $350 to the winner. The event will include 2 laps of qualifying time trials and a 25 lap Feature Race on the 3/8 mile banked asphalt track.
The September 29 event will be part of the 11th Annual Stock Car Spectacular. The September 29 race purse is projected to exceed $4,000 with $1,000 guaranteed to the winner. The TPS feature race will be 32 laps to celebrate 32 years of continuous TPS racing. The heads-up starting grid will be determined by 2 laps of qualifying time trials.[/b]
