MT. HOPE, Ohio (Jan. 16, 2007) - Wayne-Dalton is pleased to announce it
has become the official garage door and home control company of the
International Hot Rod Association (IHRA).
Wayne-Dalton's "Turn on Your Lights" program will award $1,000 and a
Wayne-Dalton Home Control Kit to the professional racer with the best
reaction time during qualifying. The rewards will be presented during
the regular Sunday morning "Cavalcade of Stars Ceremony" at all 12
Nitro
Jam(tm) Drag Racing Series national events. Additionally, Wayne-Dalton
will exclusively own the rights to the starting line Christmas tree.
"Wayne-Dalton is proud to become an official IHRA sponsor. We've
incorporated our new Home Controls products into the IHRA marketing
initiative," said Bill Earnest, Wayne-Dalton's director of marketing
and
product management. "IHRA racers and fans are a natural fit for our
primary products: garage doors and garage door openers. We provide a
wide range of attractively designed and insulated garage doors and
innovative openers which will improve both the interior and exterior of
any race shop or personal garage."
Race fans seeking the convenience and safety of home controls or wish
to
"turn on their own lights" can do so through Wayne-Dalton's Z-Wave
enabled Home Control Kits. Wayne-Dalton's home control products are
sold
under the trade names of Home Settings(tm), Lear Car2U(tm) and
Wayne-Dalton Home Controls(tm).
Developed by Zensys, Z-Wave is a network that allows homeowners to
monitor and manage home controls including garage door openers,
lighting, security systems, thermostats and entertainment systems. This
two-way wireless technology works through a 900 MHz radio frequency
mesh
network. Up to 232 devices can be installed in a single Z-Wave network,
allowing increased comfort, convenience, security, safety and energy
conservation.
This high performance system is very affordable and easy to install,
with a basic system starting at around $100. Affordability and ease of
installation will make basic home controls accessible to virtually
everyone.
"We're thrilled to have a great company like Wayne-Dalton as one of
IHRA's official sponsors," said Aaron Polburn, IHRA president. "Through
the 'Turn on Your Lights' program, IHRA competitors now have an extra
incentive to cut a good reaction time during qualifying, all while
exposing Wayne-Dalton and their quality garage doors, openers and
related products to IHRA's brand-loyal fans."
