The Continued Morphing « Result #2 on Oct 22, 2009, 8:11am »
Hey all, I am going to be doing more changes here on the CTC forums. I am looking into changing the main overall format of the forums but having a featured racing board as well. If I can manage to do this w/o closing the board and restarting a new one, I will. Keep your fingers crossed.
We would like to take this opportunity to ask you to join a unique web site that is going to be developed around “Race Team Owners that are Self Employed”. The basic concept is to gather as many businesses and input them into an address page broken down by the type of work they do.
We sincerely believe that if we can develop this web page properly that all of us will refer to this web site whenever they need work completed and therefore it will generate more business for all of us. We also believe that sponsors, crew members and fans will also use this service when they need work completed. The driving force behind this is based upon the fact that Team Owners, Sponsors, Crew Members along with fans are incredibly loyal to businesses that promote racing.
All forms of racing are invited to join. Dirt / Asphalt – Sprint Cars, Late Models, Modified, Minis, Ect. From the East Coast to the West Coast.
In the near future we will be adding a Vendor section with all their information so it will be easier for everyone to find certain parts and easily compare prices.
Some fans have also expressed interest in adding their company information, so we are thinking about having a separate section for them.
We are planning on a store or more like a mall where not only do the vendors have a section but we are also going to have a place where smaller teams can sell their promotional products verses just giving them away at the track.
We are also planning on a classified section along with a page that will offer discounts from vendors along with hopefully discounts for hotels, restaurants and even fuel if possible for all of us who travel.
Other ideas we would like to implement is a design department for those of you who would like to choice from a few basic templates and develop your own web page. We would also like to come up with a few basic designs for tee shirts where all you need to do is select your color, add your name and number along with your sponsors. Our idea is to make it as cost effective as possible.
As far as news we are going to have a few limited amount however we our planning on posting all the links to all the news related racing web sites so you can basically find all of them here without going all over the web hunting.
We also are going to have a section for racers to post their web sites along with all the racing series and hopefully as many tracks as possible with their phone numbers and addresses for all of us who travels and forget to print out the directions.
This web page is being designed to help all race teams by getting them more business, helping them find parts, sell their extra parts, find discounts and even help with web pages and tee shirts.
It cost nothing to join. Just visit www.TheRacersPage.com and click on the bottom and fill out your information.
Our first priority is to get as many business to join as possible then everything will fall in place. If you have any question please feel to go to the contact page and email us.

LATE CAUTION DOOMS SHRYOCK, LIFTS HUGHES TO THIRD SPEEDWEEK WIN AND USMTS SOUTHERN SERIES REGIONAL CROWN
GREENWOOD, La. (June 14) – The USMTS Southern Series wrapped up the 2009 edition of Speedweek Sunday at the Boothill Speedway in Greenwood, La., with another nail-biting finish to cap off the six-day, six-track swing. As the final checkered flag of the season waved for the grueling East Region campaign, the outcome told the tale of two seasons for the two winningest drivers in United States Modified Touring Series history. As the sun began to set on the 3/8-mile semi-banked clay oval located just west of Shreveport, the green flag flew to start the 30-lap Sunoco “A” Main with polesitter Garrett Durrett of Simsboro leading his first lap of the season. His reign was short-lived, however, as Fertile, Iowa's Kelly Shryock bolted from his second row starting spot to take the lead on lap 2. From there, Shryock took off from the field as he left the rest of the 23 starters to battle it out for second place. Meanwhile, current USMTS Southern Series points leader Jason Hughes of Westville, Okla., was making his way through the field from eighth on the starting grid. With five laps to go and a lead of nearly seven seconds on Hughes, Shryock appeared to be on his way to ending the longest winless streak of his career. But instead of the win he so desperately wanted, Shryock got the caution flag he didn't want. “Just Say Yes” Rookie of the Year points leader Wes Armstrong had his engine expire in the middle of turn 4, which brought out the yellow flag and erased Shryock's advantage. One lap after the restart, Hughes powered by Shryock to snare the top spot and go on to score his third win of Speedweek. Bobby Malchus turned in his best performance of the season with a third-place showing, Bryan Rowland snuck by Durrett for fourth and Randy Timms notched a sixth-place finish. Provisional starters Rodney Sanders and Steven Whiteaker Jr. gave the fans a show as they raced from 23rd and 24th on the starting grid to finish seventh and eighth, respectively. Chris Henigan took ninth and Dustin "Tater" Hyde rounded out the top-10. For Shryock, it was his fifth straight top-5 finish of the week but extended the eight-time USMTS National Champion's hiatus from the winners circle to 49 events, including 25 in the USMTS Southern Series where his last win came at the Houston Raceway Park in the 2007 season finale. At the other end of the spectrum, Sunday's $2,000 victory was the ninth for Hughes in the USMTS Southern Series this year, and an even dozen overall when factoring in his three additional wins in the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour. Combined, the pair of chassis-building Modified aces own more than 200 USMTS-sanctioned wins and came into Sunday's contest ranked first and second in the USMTS Southern Series East Region points and left the Boothill Speedway in the same order. Hughes came into Speedweek ranked sixth in the East Region and trailing points leader Jack Sullivan by 55 markers. He leaves with the East Region title, beating Shryock by 29 points (947 to 918). Sanders wound up third with 877, followed by Whiteaker (836), Johnny Bone Jr. (804), Henigan (786), Sullivan (759), Dereck Ramirez (738), B.J. Robinson (721) and Durrett (709). Hughes is the defending USMTS Southern Series Champion and Shryock claimed the crown during the inaugural season for the series in 2007. The top-10 in points — plus any other drivers with perfect attendance in the East Region — are now qualified for The Hunt for the USMTS Southern Series Championship which features 11 nights of racing at four tracks in the Lone Star State to determine the 2009 USMTS Southern Series Champion. With perfect attendance, fourteen additional drivers join the top-10 finishers in the Class of 2009: Morgan Bagley, Scott Green, Hyde, Michael Robertson, William Gould, Steve Holzkamper, Jason and Wes Armstrong, Malchus, Chad Davis, Shane Hebert, Jeff Huckaby, Jamie Burford and Kyle Schmidt. The Hunt for the USMTS Southern Series Championship will kick off Oct. 1-3 at the Battleground Speedway in Highlands, followed by Round 2 on Oct. 23-24 at the Gator Motorplex in Willis. Round 3 takes place at the Texana Raceway Park in Edna, Nov. 27-29, and the season concludes with the crowing of the 2009 USMTS Southern Series Champion at the 3rd Annual Texas Winter Nationals at the Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Dec. 3-5. USMTS officials are looking at possible dates in August for scheduling and/or rescheduling two or three events in Texas which will complete the West Region. In the event that no dates can be arranged, the West Region points will become final with seven races in the books and Hughes securing the West Region title. Twenty-two drivers in the West Region are currently qualified for The Hunt for the USMTS Southern Series Championship, including Hughes, Shryock, Sanders, Whiteaker, Hebert, Bagley, Ramirez, Malchus, the Armstrong brothers, Gould, Timms, Schmidt and Davis, plus Bryan Rowland, Jon Tesch, Bumper Jones, Eddie Martin, John O Whittington, Kevin Sustaire, Alan Sharpensteen and Cody Smith. Up next for the USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour is a Great Plains Region tripleheader in South Dakota. Tuesday, June 16, takes the touring titans to the Park Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson before trekking to the Casino Speedway in Watertown on Wednesday and the Huset's Speedway in Brandon on Thursday. CARTER COLLECTS B-MOD CASH AT OSKALOOSA; VANDERBEEK, WELLER, WOOD ALSO WIN
OSKALOOSA, Iowa (June 10) – The Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, was back in action Wednesday for another round of American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series battles, plus Kids Night presented by the Oskaloosa Herald with free candy and a nickel toss for the young race fans. After winning last week in the USRA Hobby Stock feature, Nathan Wood of Keswick had to start tenth Wednesday night but it was not enough to stop the 2007 American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series Hobby Stock national champion from claiming back-to-back wins at the Mahaska County Half-Mile Monster. Donavan Nunnikhoven of Kellogg cashed the runner-up paycheck, followed by Pulaski's Dale Porter, and Oskaloosa drivers Kris Walker and Steve Allen. The Carter’s Manufacturing USRA B-Mods attracted the largest field of the night with 24 entries in the pit area looking to take home the special $700 top prize. In the end, it was teenage phenom Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa capturing the win with opening night winner Kevin Fee of Knoxville finishing second. Third through fifth, respectively, went to points leader Tyler Groenendyk of Oskaloosa, Carter VanDenBerg of Oskaloosa and Keswick's Andrew Schroeder. In the USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Car main event, Shane Weller of Agency held off two-time defending track champion Matt Greiner of Washington for the victory. Third place went to Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon, Corey Stout of Oskaloosa was fourth and Brian Mitrisin of Oskaloosa rounded out the top-5 finishers. VanderBeek was batting .500 Wednesday night as he hopped out of his Stock Car and into his MUSCO Lighting USRA Modified and rolled right into victory lane. Points leader Brad Pinkerton of New Sharon grabbed second, with defending track champion Colt Mather of Webster winding up third. Fourth went to Oskaloosa veteran Ron Ver Beek with second-generation driver Scott Dickey of Packwood claiming fifth-place money. Next Wednesday, June 17, Racemart presents the first of several “Licensed to Thrill” special events at the Southern Iowa Speedway. Race fans from the town of Oskaloosa simply need to show their driver's license or i.d. card to get FREE admission to the grandstands and enjoy a full night of racing action on the house! On the racing card will be the American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series featuring MUSCO Lighting USRA Modifieds, USRA Karl Chevrolet Stock Cars, Carter’s Manufacturing USRA B-Mods and USRA Hobby Stocks. The pits will open at 5 p.m. and grandstand gates will open at 5:30, with hot laps at 7:15 and racing at 7:30 p.m. sharp. Other Wednesday night “Licensed to Thrill” events in 2009 include July 15 (New Sharon), July 29 (Ottumwa) and Aug. 19 (Centerville and Bloomfield). And don't forget ... coming Wednesday, July 22, the Southern Iowa Fair is in town as KBOE Radio presents the Deery Brothers Summer Series for I.M.C.A. Late Models along with all four American Racer USRA Weekly Racing Series divisions. The Southern Iowa Speedway is a half-mile semi-banked clay oval located 0.5 mile west of US 63 on SR 92, then 0.3 mile north on N. I St. (at the Southern Iowa Fairgrounds).
